چکیده

Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) describes a pathologic state in which the subaortic region of interventricular septum undergoes significant hypertrophy and fibrosis, resulting septal bowing into left ventricle. The reduced ventricular chamber size altered cardiac function impair diastolic filling, stroke volume, output. This case report evaluates tissue 36-year-old, formalin-embalmed cadaver affected by HOCM, with goal providing comprehensive overview gross findings associated condition. donor’s heart was found to be larger than average, weighing 510.1 g, is 52% heavier predicted value 335.6 g for male similar stature. thickness septum, right free wall, wall comparable other reports HOCM. However, asymmetrical thickening walls, characteristic less prominent expected. Histologic staining cadaveric tissue, hematoxylin eosin, trichrome, desmin, further bolstered diagnosis. Importantly, this also showed that histologic examination embalmed effective diagnostic, even 11 months after embalming. herein demonstrates morphologic analysis sufficient support diagnosis To researchers' knowledge, first evaluating HOCM donated medical education.

Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy is an inherited myocardial disease defined by cardiac hypertrophy (wall thickness ≥15 mm) that is not explained by abnormal loading conditions, and left ventricular obstruction greater than or equal to 30 mm Hg. Typical symptoms include dyspnoea, chest pain, palpitations, and syncope. The diagnosis is usually suspected on clinical examination and confirme...

Symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

H ypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common, yet challenging condition for clinical management. The majority of these patients have evidence of left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction that may be asymptomatic or associated with debilitating symptoms of heart failure. In this report, we discuss the clinical presentation, appropriate evaluation, and management of a patient with sympt...

Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy*

In patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy obstruction to left ventricular ejection varies from moment to moment. The pressure gradient can be increased by amyl nitrite, which lowers peripheral resistance (Braunwald and Ebert, 1962; Wigle et al., 1965 ; Hancock and Fowkes, 1966), or can be reduced or abolished by systemic vasoconstriction with phenylephrine, methoxamine, or angiot...
